On February 9, An Phat Holdings officially held the ground-breaking ceremony of the construction project of the PBAT biodegradable plastic factory with the participation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and leaders of ministries, sector and locality.
PBAT Biodegradable Plastic Factory is the first green material factory in Southeast Asia, in the list of high-tech projects prioritized for investment. Expected to be completed after 24 months, the factory will meet 100% of the group's raw material needs as well as serve the export target.
Pham Anh Duong, chairman of the Board of Directors of An Phat Holdings, said that the project will be self-sufficient in raw materials, reduce costs to bring products closer to consumers and move towards replacing traditional plastic products. .
"An Phat Holdings will represent Vietnam to put its name on the global map of green materials, and at the same time become a pioneer in Vietnam's commitment to bring net zero emissions by 2050." , Mr. Duong confirmed.
According to Mr. Duong, with this project, An Phat Holdings will close the green circular ecosystem from input to output, becoming the first Vietnamese enterprise to successfully manufacture materials and products bioplastics. fully biodegradable, and officially join the world green material network. The cost of green products will decrease by 20-30% when the PBAT factory comes into operation.
Mr. Le Anh Quan, vice chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, said that attracting investment projects plays an important role for the city when this is a project to produce plastic and synthetic rubber in primary form that requires a lot of work. High-tech, environmentally friendly.
Production of 30,000 tons of PBAT a year will help reduce 33,000 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to the ability to absorb 165,000 hectares of forest. This will help Vietnam bring net emissions to zero by 2050 as committed at COP 26.
